What is Live Rush™ ?
Begun in September 2000, the National Arts Centre's Live Rush™ programme offers full-time high school, college and university students (ages 13-29) an easy way to purchase $12 tickets to music, theatre and dance performances at the National Arts Centre.

How do I sign-up?
You need only fill out the online registration form once to become a Live Rush™ member for the entire 2010-2011 season.
Please note: you must present your Student ID card (or alternate proof of full-time student status) and proof of age each time you purchase Live Rush™ tickets.
When can I purchase tickets?
If you are a Live Rush™ member, you may purchase Live Rush™ tickets online or in person at the NAC Box Office; Live Rush™ tickets are not available by telephone. Although Live Rush™ tickets must be purchased between 10:00 a.m. on the day before the performance until 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance, tickets purchased online may be picked up at the NAC Box Office any time until the curtain rises; allow yourself time for possible queues at the Box Office. * Live Rush™ tickets to Opera Lyra Ottawa performances are $15 and are available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance with some seating restrictions.
How do I find out which shows are Live Rush™ eligible?
All shows listed on the Live Rush™ home page are eligible to Live Rush™ members however seating is not guaranteed. Only seats still available at 10:00 a.m. on the day before the performance until 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance can be sold to Live Rush™ members. If a performance sells out, no Live Rush™ tickets will be available. * Live Rush™ tickets to Opera Lyra Ottawa performances are $15 and are available from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance with some seating restrictions.
Live Rush™ tickets can be purchased (subject to availability) for any NAC subscription performance, including NAC Orchestra, NAC English and French Theatre, NAC Dance productions and productions by Opera Lyra Ottawa and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra (See Other Partners). Other "rental" events (not produced by the NAC) such as rock, pop, comedy and Broadway productions, are generally not eligible for the Live Rush™ programme.
How do I buy Live Rush™ tickets online?
Live Rush™ tickets go on sale beginning at 10:00 a.m. on the day before the performance until 6:00 on the day of the performance.
* Live Rush™ tickets to Opera Lyra Ottawa performances are $15 and are available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance with some seating restrictions.
Can I buy tickets by phone?
Live Rush™ tickets are not available by telephone.
Does my guest have to be 13-29?
No. Your guest may be anyone of any age.
Is it possible to purchase more than two Live Rush™ tickets seated together?
Each Live Rush™ member is entitled to purchase a maximum of two tickets. However, Live Rush™ Members may reserve more than two tickets online. If you and another Live Rush™ member wish to sit together as a group with your guests, you may place a single ticket order for more than two tickets provided that both Live Rush™ Members are present with proof of ID to pick up the reserved tickets in person at the Box Office.
As always, when you pick up your tickets, you will have to provide identification (valid full-time Student ID card) as well as proof of age. No more than one pair of tickets will be issued to each member.
To purchase more than two tickets online, follow the directions as indicated above, but when you reach "Enter Quantity of Live Rush™ tickets," enter the number of seats you require.
Do I have to sit in a certain section of the hall?
Live Rush™ tickets are usually for the best seats available from 10:00 a.m. on the day before the performance until 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance. Note: Live Rush™ tickets to Opera Lyra Ottawa performances are $15 and are available from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the day of the performance with some seating restrictions.
I'm an arts educator. Am I eligible?
To be eligible for the Live Rush™ Arts Educator program you must:
-teach students ages 13-29
-teach in the subject areas of the arts, literature, languages or social sciences
We ask that you consider your membership in the Live Rush™Arts Educator program as an ambassador for the NAC's Live Rush™progam and encourage your students, wherever possible, to join and participate in Live Rush.
To register for the program, follow the online registration process and please bring proof of teaching to the Box Office to purchase or pick up tickets purchased online.

I'm a part-time/and or mature student. Can I get in on this deal?
Unfortunately, no. You must be a full-time student between 13 and 29 years of age to be eligible for Live Rush™. However, the NAC offers ALL STUDENTS (including part-time and mature students) advanced purchase of reserved seats for all NAC subscription performances at 50% off regular ticket prices (subject to ticket availability) beginning September 9, 2010. You must buy your tickets in person at the NAC Box Office and present a valid Student ID card. Limit one ticket (per performance) per Student ID.
Do I have to show my
full-time student ID every time I buy Live Rush™ tickets?
Yes. Your student identification must have a valid date stamp or sticker, or clearly show the current school year. You must also provide proof of age.
Do I have to have a credit card to buy tickets?
A credit card is required to purchase Live Rush™ tickets online. If you visit the NAC Box Office in person, you can pay with cash, credit card or debit card.
What other great deals are available to students at the NAC?

English Theatre Student Club
The NAC English Theatre Student Club is a terrific way for students between 16 and 22 years of age to get discounted tickets to an entire season of great theatre, meet like-minded theatre lover, and have an opportunity to interact with artists in the season on an up-close-and personal settings. We provide the plays, the pizza and the artists – you provide a passion for theatre! Limited space available.

Where is the National Arts Centre?
53 Elgin Street, Ottawa ON - across from Confederation Square. The NAC is the large building across the canal from the Rideau Centre. The Box Office is accessible from the Rideau Canal side of the building (at the bottom of the ramp leading to the Canal from Elgin Street).
What buses run to the NAC?
You can take any bus that goes to the Rideau Centre. Visit the OC Transpo website at www.octranspo.com or the STO website at www.sto.ca for detailed information about bus routes and schedules.
Where can I park?
The NAC has an 833 space indoor parking garage which often fills to capacity as early as 19:00, so arrive early! Should the garage be full, other parking lots just a short distance from the NAC are listed below for your convenience.

What should I wear?
The NAC does not have a dress code. Wear what makes you feel most comfortable. You'll see everything from casual chic to business attire to cocktail dresses.
Scented Products
Less is more... none is best! If you are experiencing an allergic reaction due to your seating location, please contact the House Manager about the possibility of relocating.
Can I take photographs?
Cameras and other recording devices are not permitted in the halls.
What about my cell phone?
Before the start of the show kindly turn off your cell phone, or electronic device of any kind and refrain from talking during the performance. Please refrain from texting during the performance as the light from the screen of your mobile device can disturb the other patrons around you.
Do you offer special needs services?
The NAC is fully accessible. Special tickets are available for those patrons in wheelchairs. All accessible seating is available through the NAC Box Office, NAC website nac-cna.ca and through Ticketmaster Call Centres, Ticket Outlets or online at ticketmaster.ca. If you require special assistance from an usher on the night of the show, please advise House Management in advance by calling (613) 947-7000, ext. 222.
Hearing Devices:
Since 1983, the NAC has provided a Phonic Ear Wireless FM Sound System for patrons with impaired hearing. FM (Frequency Modulation) receivers and several accessories such as a headset for use without a hearing aid, a teleloop and a Cochlea Implant Patch Cord are available, free of charge from the Communication Centre, located near the Theatre Checkroom. Patrons are required to leave a piece of identification.
